Darian McBain, Ph.D. is the global director of sustainability for Thai Union, the world’s largest producer of canned tuna. McBain is focused on implementing change that will drive sustainability through the entire global seafood industry. Working in partnership with a wide range of NGOs, she develops programs designed to manage the environmental and social impacts of the sector. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Sydney on social indicators for global supply chain analysis; a Master’s of Science in Business Strategy, Politics and Environment from the University of London; and a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) from the University of New South Wales.
